From Ezra 4:1 - In every door God opens for His people is Satan working his best to trip us up and close the door by desecration, discouragement, despair, or division. The sad truth is that sometimes he is successful.
That is sad Pastor. The rare times I get it right I’m looking to Christ already when the door opens. Leaning on and looking to Him with a surrendered heart and the forward momentum of His perfect will has yielded victory over the enemy every time. More often, however, I’m trying to look to Christ but find myself leaning backwards on my own abilities, desires, pride and other human earthly emotions. (The carnal me). The lean back is caused by my own sin and nothing else. I need to repent, turn away from sin and surrender my will to His daily. Then I can lean forward on Christ, His Word and look for those open doors and second (or third, fourth, fifth) chances on past doors I have missed completely or got tripped up and never made it thru. The spiritual me, that is happy!
